Dr. Greg Weaver is the Director of Online Program Development at the Office of the Vice Provost for Online Education and Digital Innovation (VP-OEDI) at the University of Virginia.
Full Bio
Dr. Greg Weaver joins the team as a seasoned leader in online education with extensive experience supporting and advancing digital learning initiatives through a holistic, student-centered lens. For more than a decade, he has worked across a wide range of online learning functions, including admissions, academic advising, course development, teaching, and faculty training, bringing a comprehensive and integrated perspective to effective online pedagogy and program development. He actively contributes to the scholarship and research in online learning, demonstrating his commitment to continuous improvement and meaningful impact in the field.
Dr. Weaver joins us from Colorado State University, where he oversaw online learning development and program strategy for three of the university’s eight colleges. Within his previous role, he partnered closely with academic leadership and faculty to promote sustainable online programmatic growth, establish high-quality course design processes, and support learner success across online offerings. His work emphasizes a full-ecosystem data-driven approach, from program conception through delivery.
In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Online Learning Consortium (OLC), highlighting his dedication to excellence and innovation in online education.
Outside of his professional work, he enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly whitewater rafting, and values time spent with his family.
