Jennifer Herrera is the Managing Director of the Office of the Vice Provost for Online Education and Digital Innovation (VP-OEDI) at the University of Virginia.

Since joining the Provost's Office in August 2024, Jennifer has led the growing, high-performing OEDI team, guiding daily operations, managing the implementation of strategic online and hybrid programs, and fostering essential relationships with internal and external partners. She is responsible for supporting and advancing the University’s online and digital education strategy consistent with UVA’s position as one of the nation’s leading public research universities. In this role, Jennifer collaborates with UVA’s twelve schools, institutes, centers, and other key stakeholders to develop innovative learning opportunities that meet the needs of both lifelong learners and employers in a rapidly evolving economy.
With nearly 20 years of experience in adult learning and K-12 sectors, Jennifer has an impressive track record of launching and managing cutting-edge online education programs. Her leadership roles at Guild Education, Entangled Solutions, and Amplify have uniquely prepared her to lead UVA’s online education efforts during a time of significant transformation in higher education.
Jennifer’s deep expertise in growing educational partnerships and harnessing emerging technologies is key to expanding UVA’s access to high-quality education, especially for working adult learners across and beyond the Commonwealth. Her leadership ensures UVA’s online and hybrid programs are both innovative and aligned with the University’s long-term goals embodied by the 2030 Plan.
Outside of her work with OEDI, Jennifer enjoys salsa dancing, horseback riding, and spending time with her family.
